The current pressures on the NHS are well documented, and in South East London ICB we’re very similar to the rest of the country in that we are seeing real pressure in general practice. On top of that, the role of primary care is changing. Primary care is completely different to working in other parts of the NHS.

Pressure on general practice has been growing for some time and has never been greater. General practice held 35m more appointments last year and 85 per cent of patients seeking a primary care appointment are already seen within the government’s new two-week target. The numbers do not lie.
