Medicaid reimbursement for CHW services has been added to the state plan, and some of Rhode Island’s Accountable Care Entities also employ CHWs in managed care settings. States may submit state plan amendments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services to allow reimbursement for CHW services through Medicaid.
