Is it a Cold, the Flu or COVID-19?

Starting this weekend, I wished I had invested in Kleenex years ago.  I was certain that I had a cold, but did I?  Was it something else – the flu?  COVID-19 again (I had COVID in August last year)?  It didn’t feel like COVID, but I wasn’t entirely sure.  I remembered a chart I’d seen awhile back and referenced that to help me decide.

My symptoms matched those in the Cold column.  I decided to use a home COVID-19 test, just in case, to rule out COVID.  My COVID test was very clearly negative so a cold is my diagnosis. Sneezing tipped the scale amongst the other symptoms.  This chart may be helpful for you to use at home or to initially rule out more serious illness.

You can find the chart here or here.

It’s also available in Spanish.
