The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) discovered an error in the patient counts for each LTCH CARE Data Set (LCDS) measure in the March 2022 provider preview reports originally released on April 13, 2022, related to the June 2022 refresh of LTCH quality data on CMS Care Compare. The update correctly applies the COVID-19 reporting exceptions to only exclude stays that occurred in Q1 and Q2 2020.
Additionally, an error was discovered in the measure calculations for the Ventilator Liberation Rate measure for the reporting period October 01, 2020 through September 30, 2021. The update corrects the Facility Risk-Adjusted Percent calculations for the Ventilator Liberation Rate measure.
The March 2022 provider preview reports will be re-released on April 27, 2022, and the review period will run from April 27, 2022 through May 27, 2022. For any questions, please reach out to LTCHPRquestions@cms.hhs.gov.
