COVID-19 continues to change the way we all live and work, and as healthcare leaders, our frontline providers have seen and experienced the pandemic like no one else.
They have continued to support their patients and colleagues through these difficult and historic times, incorporating new innovations into their daily work.
Accelerated by the need to reduce in-person visits, clinicians have quickly embraced telehealth and remote monitoring, which has served to further empower patients as active participants in their care.
One key contributor to this transition is the evolution of EHRs from what were essentially data-entry systems toward platforms that actively support the relationship between patients and providers.
As we witness this ongoing evolution in healthcare, we have the opportunity to reflect and take stock of where we’ve been — and what we see over the next horizon.
I am very excited to be serving as moderator for the upcoming 2021 MEDITECH Physician and CIO Forum, where we’ll explore how healthcare is moving beyond the transactional, episodic care processes of the past and toward a more holistic, transformational approach.

Although we continue to face challenges, technology is also providing us with opportunities we couldn’t have envisioned even a few years ago — including virtual assistants in the exam room, AI-driven clinical decision support, and personalized medicine guided by genomics.

I’m particularly looking forward to hearing from our keynote speakers, Micky Tripathi from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Michele Harper, best-selling author and ER doctor, who will offer valuable insights from her book, The Beauty in Breaking.
This year’s forum will also include five distinct tracks to align with your interests: Ambulatory, Acute, Integrated Care, CIO, and a track for our Canadian customers. You’ll hear from a wide range of medical professionals about their success in transforming patient care, improving operational processes, and creating new pathways to care excellence.
Attendees can also earn 1.0 hours Category I CME Credit during the Genomics in the Era of the EMR session, whether in-person or virtual.
