Mandy Richards has been named Intermountain Healthcare’s new chief nursing executive. Richards will begin serving the Utah-based health system on Jan. 2.
It’s a pivotal leadership position, Chief Clinical Officer JP Valin said in a statement. “Mandy’s expertise will support our continued focus on providing the best possible experience for our nurses.”
Richards comes to Intermountain from Hartford HealthCare. There she was the first executive vice president and chief nursing officer after joining the organization in 2021, according to a previous press release.
She spent the bulk of her career at Allina Health in Minnesota in various leadership positions. Ultimately, she ascended to the rank of chief nursing officer about 13 years after first starting there as a critical care clinical nurse specialist.
Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Yale University.
