Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is a federal requirement to help ensure that individuals are not inappropriately placed in nursing homes for long term care. This webinar will focus on PASRR person-centered expectations for adaptation to culture, language, ethnic origin, and communication preferences, using the federal standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) as a guide.

This webinar will provide:​

  • A review of the PASRR regulatory expectations for person-centered approaches and cultural considerations;
  • The description of culture and cultural norms and how they affect our values, priorities, and way of life;
  • Definitions of cultural and linguistic competence and a Cultural and Linguistic Competency Framework; and
  • Application of cultural and linguistic competency standards to PASRR.
