CMS has posted the latest county positivity rates for August 18th through August 31, 2021.

Remember that the “archived” rates are found on the individual sheets or pages at the bottom of the Excel spreadsheet.

Be sure to check your county’s positivity rate as that becomes the basis for testing frequency of your staff.

On a personal note, I always check my home state of Iowa to see how we’re doing.  This latest posting shows that out of 99 counties in Iowa, only 2 are green with 31 showing yellow with this report.  The rest of the counties (2/3 of the state at 66) are red.  Last week, we had 3 green counties with 41 showing yellow, leaving a bit over half as red at that point in time.  Going the wrong direction Iowans!  64.1% of Iowans are fully vaccinated with 66.7% aged 12 and older having at least one dose.  This information as well as the graphic below is current as of September 5, 2021.[1]

How is your state/county faring?
