How State Palliative Care Advisory Councils Are Advancing Serious Illness Policy

Almost half (24) of the states have a palliative care advisory council, coalition, or task force created through state legislation or regulation to guide work to support and expand care for those with serious illness. The councils in Maine, Maryland, and Texas have guided their states in making significant progress in palliative care, though they differ in their structures and paths to progress.

Watch this webinar to hear state officials and council members from these three states share insights about their councils’ creation and impact and discuss lessons learned for states looking to create a council or reinvigorate an existing council.
